Let us now revisit the main tube to get its surface prepped for
priming and painting, by sanding using a range of grits. But, I will
not be using the 100-grit as I did for the dew shield.
In the
picture above, I have started sanding the main tube with a 60-grit
sanding disk loaded into my random orbital sander. I used the electric
sander for the 60 and 220-grit sander disks, rather than hand sanding,
because of the amount of surface area of the main tube and the better
results. But, the last and final 600-grit media is a green
Scotch-Brite scouring pad that will be used by hand.
SPECIAL NOTE: When performing these
types of tasks, PLEASE be sure to protect yourself from any and all
potential hazards. |
