The paint of choice for the "GJD" refractor (as with most of my
builds) is Rustoleum's Sail Blue spray enamel, as seen in the photo
above. I have used this color over the years because it looks similar
in color to the blue in our VSC logo. That's why Gary and I coined it
"a.k.a., Vega Blue". Plus, I think it was a better choice as compared
to the magenta in our logo. LOL!!!
The paint has also withstood
the test of time. As I am writing this caption on 08/02/2015, my
Coulter 10" f/5.6 "GB" Fork Mounted reflector is fast approaching 9
years old, being completed in January of 2007, and this paint still
looks great without any chipping, cracking or fading! So, I had no
reservations in using it going forward. |
