The painting process kicks off with the application of three to four light even coats of Rustoleum Sail Blue spray enamel paint spray onto the primed and buffed surface of the dew shield for the Jaegers 6" f/10 "Gelinda J. Dawson" refractor. In the image above, here is a side view showing a reflection that conveys how smooth the finish truly is.
