As opposed to the previous shot, this is a frontal/ straight-on side
view of the painted dew shield for the "Gelinda J. Dawson" refractor.
The bright reflection of the camera's flash certainly shows how well
the paint was spray on. I must say that I really concentrated on
applying even light strokes of paint to the external surface of the
dew shield, much like is done during the hand spray painting of
automobiles. This reduced the likelihood of drips and splatters, which
aided in rendering a beautiful smooth finish. I would assuredly
recommend checking out some YouTube videos if you need assistance in
working with spray paint, since they seemed to help me out a great
deal.
Once painting was complete, I allowed the dew shield to
cure for about three (3) weeks (rotating it on the horizontal support
tube daily) in my garage. |
