Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - Main Tube (buffing after first light coats of paint )

Main Tube being buff sanded with 600-grit between the light coats of paint - 2 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

After nine days of curing, I temporarily removed the main tube from the horizontal support tube and placed it on my workbench and commenced to buffing its surface with a green 600-grit Scotch-Brite pad prior to applying the final coats of Rustoleum Sail Blue (a.k.a., Vega Blue) paint.. Check out the dull finish it produced. Also be sure not to remove too much of the first coats of paint with the Scotch-Brite pad. All you need to do is knock down the surface irregularities so that the final coats of Vega Blue will adhere well and look professional in appearance upon completion.

SPECIAL NOTE: Again, when performing these types of tasks, PLEASE be sure to protect yourself from any and all potential hazards.
