As you will recall, we previously built the baffle rack cut the
ProtoStar FlockBoard to exact size, built the baffle rack and put them
aside. Not necessarily in that order. Now we return to them as the
first items that will be added to the main tube (seen at the
upper-left corner of the photo) in the construction of the OTA.
To kicked the OTA assembly, in the image above is the baffle rack
wrapped and taped within the precut sheet of ProtoStar flocking
material. Based on the measurement on the ray trace, the baffle rack
was precisely positioned on the ProtoStar sheet before being wrapped
and taped. As the ProtoStar FlockBoard was wrapped around the baffle
rack, I taped the spot directly over each of the four (4) baffles.
From this side perspective, the focuser end of the wrap is at the left
end. Taping the flocking material around the baffle rack prior to
sliding the arrangement into the main tube will help tremendously. |
