| At the heart
of the "Mary Dawson" refractor is a Carton 100mm f/13 mounted brand new
vintage Fraunhofer achromatic objective. This is a front view of the
mounted achromat. It is coated on all four surfaces and is air-spaced
with three aluminum tables. The cell is anodized aluminum and it is
etched with the objectives clear aperture diameter and focal length in
millimeters. I purchased this fine objective from
Sheldon Faworski
(renown astronomical wares purveyor MASILMW on Cloudy Nights). It cost
me $215.00 USD. I was convinced to purchase this awesome lens after
doing a bit of research and running across a refractor build thread by
user Doug76 on Cloudy Nights. I also covered the construction of my
