Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - Knife-Edge Baffles (baffle rack assembly - 1)

With all holes drilled, baffle rack assembly is now underway - 41 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

Now that all four (4) knife-edge baffles have been drilled, it is now time to construct the baffle rack. Outside of the polycarbonate knife-edge baffles themselves, the other components that make up the baffle rack is the hardware. The collection of which contains three (3) 1/4"-20 x 3' threaded rods, and twenty-four (24) of the following: nuts, washers and lock washers.

The above picture shows the rack partially assembled with the hardware loosely fitted so that I can adjust the distance between each knife-edge baffle as specified on the race trace. To get a better understanding of how this vital part of the telescope will come together, here is a diagram showing a close-up of the hardware arrangement that will secure the individual knife-edge baffles to the threaded rods. It may prove quite helpful to those interested in making a baffle rack for their optical instrument.
