We
finally complete the finishing of the SAO 10" Fork Mount with the varnishing
of the Accessory Compartment Door. Compared to how the wood looked prior
to varnishing, the contrast of the grain patterns really pop out, and
casts a pleasing warm glow. Another coat of varnish and we are done with
the finishing process of the Fork Mount. We will move on to the
finishing and restoration of the Guide Scope in the next part of the
finishing process.
The
last two upcoming photos in this section of the finishing process of the
SAO 10" Newtonian Fork Mounted Reflector shows how the completely
finished mount looks from different perspectives. I hope sharing this
information helps as many amateur telescope builders to the level I have enjoyed
working on and completing this project. This was a true labor of love.
