As I had done with the preparation to epoxy the nuts to the inside of the main tube for the Vixen dovetail bar, I also similarly prepped the surfaces of the areas where I will be adhering the nuts for the Celestron counterweight system. Going from 100 to 600-grit took care of the surface substantially. With a bit of cleanup with mineral spirits, the epoxy should bind the nuts to the main tubes inside wall excellently.
