To assist in pointing the "GJD" at those wonderful celestial wonders,
I decided to make a set of handles to attach to the OTA. Though simple
in design, they are going to be an asset during observing sessions.
The photo above shows the chrome plated brass handles, and red oak
pieces that make up the major components for the OTA maneuvering
handles, that will be installed on opposite sides of the main tube
near the focuser end of the Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" refractor. I have
already drawn the layout lines for the handle supports onto the wood
and are now ready to cut them out on my bandsaw. |
