Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - OTA Handles (drilling holes for the metal handles)

Handles supports for OTA being bored for metal handles - 3 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

Here my son Jarvis prepares to bore the 1/4" (.250") holes to a depth of 1/2" (.500") in one (1) of the two (2) oak wood handle supports that will accept the chrome plate brass handles, which requires two (2) holes. Once the 1/4" holes have been drilled to the 1/2" depth in the handle supports, I will follow up with a narrower 1/8" (.125") drill bit and bore completely through the center of the 1/4" hole for mounting to the OTA later. The 1/4" bore will create a 1/2" recess that will support the metal handles and prevent them from shifting and going through the handle supports.
