After using a paper template (shown later) to establish the locations of the holes
to be drilled for the OTA handles, I engraved spots on both sides of the OTA/ main tube. In
doing so, this will help prevent the drill bit from wandering across
the beautiful paint job when I commence to drilling the holes. Another option to
curtail damaging the main tube's paint finish during drilling, would be
to apply pieces of painters tape over the engraved marks.
To
make certain that I install the two (2) OTA handles on the main tube in their
respective
locations opposite one another, in an inconspicuous location on the
painted oak wood handle supports, and the on the main tube, I will mark
one side with an "X", and the other with an "O", as you will see on
the next couple of pages. |
