Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - OTA Assembly (installation of Crayford focuser - 2)

Focuser installed and racked out on Main Tube - 11 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

In this image, the focuser is fully racked out to show how much travel it has. We talking about 5-1/4" (5.250") of travel! What's great is that I designed the telescope to provide focus with a 2" star diagonal at the point where I would only have to utilize about an 1-1/2" (1.500") inches of travel to achieve focus with the majority of my oculars. But, the extra travel will indubitably help when I barlow eyepieces.

This concludes the work to the focuser end of of the OTA. But, there is still much more work to be done. Now, I will move on up to the objective end.
