Okay, the aluminum spacers for the "Gelinda J. Dawson" refractor have
finally been attached to the outer edge of the flint element. The
template was carefully removed from the surface of the flint revealing
the spacers tabs spaced evenly spaced 60-degrees from each other. As I
said earlier, the tabs are quite large. When I do its first post
maintenance work and cleaning, I will replace them with thinner ones.
In the interim, they should not be much of a hindrance.
With
the application of the aluminum spacer tabs complete, it is now time
to install both elements into the front lens cell. I will explain in
detail how I install the lens elements without causing those dreaded
clams. |
