This is a view from directly above the Jaeger 6" f/10 mounted
objective lens for the "Gelinda J. Dawson" refractor. As you can see,
the cell was designed with collimation in mind; a great asset that
will help tremendously in aligning the optics. Also, note how big the
aluminum spacer tabs are! As I said earlier, when I perform its first
post build maintenance, I will be replacing them with smaller tabs
that will be less obtrusive. Mounting of the front lens cell to the
OTA is next! |
