As a means locking the "adjustable center legs" at the desired height, stainless steel strap hinges were used in conjunction with the previously installed phenolic knurled knobs and T-Nuts. The way the system will works is that when the knurled knobs are screwed clockwise into the T-Nuts, they will protrude from the other side and press against the leaf of the strap hinge (mounted to the bottom of one of the "outside main leg support"), which in turn presses up against the "adjustable center leg" and sandwiches it against the opposing "outside main leg support" locking the "adjustable center leg" in place. Note how the pivots of the strap hinges rest in the bevel cuts at the ends of the "outside main leg supports". This will allow the leaves of the strap hinges to lie parallel to the "outside main leg supports", thereby allowing the "adjustable center legs" to slide up and down freely when retract and extending them.
