In this photo, the "outside main leg supports" that have the locking hardware attached are flipped over to show how the stainless steel strap hinges are installed. As you can see, the strap hinges were bent (using a vise and hammer) in order to wrap them around the outside ends of the "outside main leg supports". Only two wood were needed to secured them since the weight of the tripod and telescopic instrument will be rendering a force that will push the strap hinges to the ends of the "outside main leg supports". Now we are ready to assemble each of the three tripod legs for the North Star II.
