North Star II Field Tripod Construction - Accessory Tray Assembly 6

VSC Emblem parts traced on 1/8" birch plywood... (Click for enlarged view)

Much like the VSC emblem that graces the top of the accessory compartment door on the fork mounted equatorial platform I constructed for my 10" f/5.6 Newtonian, I wanted to do something similar with the North Star II field tripod. So, I decided the make a VSC emblem and place it in the center of the NS II's accessory tray.

In the photo above, you will note that I traced the individual parts that make up the "V-Star" symbol below its printed image onto a section of 1/8" birch plywood. Also note that the traced sections are positioned in various orientations. This was done so that when all of the pieces have been brought together to make the finished emblem, each would reflect light at a different angle, which will produce a three dimensional effect. I will demonstrate this later. Now let's cut out the pieces.
