is a look down the center of the tube from the rear. As you can see half
way into the tube, an inner ring is reflecting the light of the flash
bulb. This ring is actually the edge of the smaller diameter tube
section inserted into the SonotubeŽ to cover the remaining plastic liner.
This section of tube also performs a couple of other important
functions.
It serves as a light baffle, which will help in reducing the amount of
indirect stray light that enters the tube, and strengthens the tube in
the area where the telescope cradle will support the OTA. |
