At 220-grit, the surface of the 6061-T6 aluminum dew shield has really
transformed into a more acceptable surface for priming and painting.
As you are already aware, the inside surface of the dew shield was
sanded at 60-grit, and then left alone. Now, compare it to the freshly
sanded external surface of the dew shield and appreciate the
difference between the two. I have one more grit to get through on the
external surface plus thoroughly cleaning before we can move on to
applying the flocking, priming and painting. |
