Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - Flocked Objective Cell and Focuser Backplate (back)

Flocked Objective Cell and Focuser Backplated components - Some parts will be painted - 8 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

In this image, with all of the painters tape removed, (from left to right) we have revealed the focuser backplate facing side of the focuser support/ collimation ring, the outside facing side of the focuser backplate, the back facing side of the objective's rear cell showing transition beveled edge, the back edge of the objective retaining ring and the back side of the objective's front lens cell.

With the tape removed on the focuser backplate, focuser support collimation ring and rear cell, I will be painting their external surfaces with Rustoleum Hammed Finished paint, as you will see beginning on the next page. No finish will be applied to the threads, as I am sure you are aware. Note that I used a Sharpie pen to darken the back side of the front lens cell's objective outer edge support. Though it was not necessary, I went ahead and done it just to be sure all internal surfaces were flocked to some degree. I know, I know... I should have gone ahead and flocked it properly with the Rustoleum Camouflage flat black paint. Perhaps I will do this the next time I perform general maintenance to instrument.
