With all ten (10) aluminum duct tape strips (five each on opposite sides of the mounting holes) adhered to the focuser backplate rim, I used a terry cloth towel to smooth the tape down for a tight bond.

Note that I instilled a little overhang of the aluminum duct tape on the leading edge so that when I insert the focuser backplate into the main tube, the tape's edge would not snagged and pull away. The overhang will get smoothed down on the next page.
