Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - Main Tube (prepping for a guide scope - 1)

Prepping for Guide Scope Bar - 1 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

Though I was not 100% positive that I was going to include a Guide Scope in the mix for the Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" refractor, I decided to go ahead and make the option available on the instrument. The photo above from the focuser end of the "GJD" shows the main tube of a Jaegers 4" f/8.6 refractor that I received as a trade from my colleague Gary Barabino, which is the guide scope of choice. I put the main tube for the guide scope side-by-side to help determine the placement of the Vixen style dovetail bar you see sitting on top of the main tube of the "GJD". The dovetail bar in conjunction with a couple of ADM 127mm guide scope rings will support the Jaegers 4" f/8.6 scope quite well.
