Jaegers 6" f/10 "GJD" OTA Construction - OTA Assembly (making spacer template - step 6)

Cutting out of aluminum spacers - Step Six - 19 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

Step 5 --- Although this is not a true step in the creation process of the template, I thought that I would add it as a step anywhere, because the aluminum spacer tabs will be exclusively relying on the template for placement onto the flint element. But, I will need to trace them out onto a couple of sections of aluminum duct tape, which I have done here in the photo using a 6" inch diameter scrap section of aluminum tubing (not seen in the picture). Once I have cut out the six (6) spacers, they will be applied to the edge of the flint element as prescribed by the template (left side of photo).

This concludes the creation of the spacer template and spacers. It is now time to install the tabs and mount the objective.

Special Note --- If you are interested in spacing your achromatic lens elements in the same manner as I did by using aluminum duct tape, a roll can be purchased from any major home improvement, or hardware store.
