The last time we saw the objective for the Jaegers 6" f/10 "Gelinda J.
Dawson" refractor was right after the elements received an AR coating
of MgF2, by Majestic Optical Coatings of Clark, NJ. Now, the time has
arrived for us revisit the lens set to install the aluminum spacer
tabs as we prepare it for mounting into the front lens cell. As you
can see in the image above, the individual elements were carefully
wrapped with lens paper and stored safely while I completed the rest
of the work on the OTA. For the moment, I will only unwrap the flint
element in order to install the aluminum spacer tabs. |
