In designing the panhead for the North Star II Field Tripod, several things came to mind. The biggest being size reduction as compared to the prototype. Another being better styling. I believe this was achieved, which you will discover upon the NS II's completion. The template was made from business card stock and will do well in replicating the panheads' design pattern.

Using this template, I will trace out three sections onto a piece of 3/4" cabinet-grade plywood, as you will see later.
