North Star II Field Tripod Construction - Panhead Sections Traced 1

Rather than be made from four layers of 3/4" cabinet-grade plywood like the North Star I prototype, the new panhead will use on three. This, plus the reduction in overall size will help relieve some unnecessary weight. The three panhead sections will be cut out using my 10" band saw. Though a circle has been trace at the center of each of the three sections, only one of the sections will have this area cut out. It will form a recess to allow installation of my CG-5 equatorial mount head.
