Prepping Focuser Backplate to attach to Main Tube - 3 (Click to see an enlarged image.)

When I designed the Focuser Backplate and sent the plans to Eric Moerman of Belgium for fabrication, I made a major mistake in providing him with the wrong inside diameter measurement of the main tube; thereby causing him to mill the outside diameter of the focuser backplate's recessed rim, that slides into the main tube smaller by one (1) millimeter. I was devastated to say the least! So, with some though, using my improvisational skill sets, I came up with a viable fix that turned out great in filling in the gap between the tube and backplate.

The solution? Aluminum duct tape! Now, let us see how I made this work in the next few pages...
